A Dollar, a Drink & a Tipping Debate
Is a dollar a drink, 20% of the tab, or a service-dependent tip appropriate for a bartender?
Should the dollar standard continue, or is it time to change the tipping point?

With the struggling economy, those who have should tip accordenly. I tip on service and sometimes that is 30-40% above the cost of my drinks. In these times server's need us most!
read this please! http://heavytable.com/25-things-chefs-hate-about-you/ CHeers!
I usually tip $1 a drink if I'm paying cash - and I'm usually drinking beer so that is usually around 20%. And I'll tip 20% if I'm paying with a card, I might as well if I have the time to calculate it and don't need exact change! Even though drinks are getting expensive and it can add it quickly these days, you still need to treat the bartender right, especially if they're helping you out.
I usually stick to the 20% rule, but according to the article I'm not in the majority!
